Mónica García

Mónica Garcia brings over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, with a distinguished career marked by strategic leadership and operational excellence. Since March 2020, she has served as Director of Global Purchasing and Supply Chain for General Motors Mexico, where she oversees the strategic direction of purchasing, supply chain, and logistics operations. 

Prior to her current position, Mónica was Senior Purchasing Manager for Future Programs, leading global strategic planning and procurement for key vehicle programs, including the Chevrolet Onix. Her career includes a series of high-impact leadership roles in supplier quality, supplier development, global purchasing, strategic planning, vehicle scheduling, and program purchasing – along with an international assignment in Detroit, Michigan.

Monica Garcia is a member of GM Mexico’s Executive Committee and chairs the Mexico Supplier Council, driving collaboration and performance across the regional supply base.

Recognized for her influence and leadership, Monica has been named one of Expansión magazine’s “100 Most Powerful Women in Business” for three consecutive years.

She holds an MBA from the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN). Monica has also completed executive programs at IPADE Business School, Harvard Business School, and the Women in Board Leadership program at CESA in Colombia.
